SCUBA Diving
We discovered the fun of SCUBA diving during our long weekend trip to Oahu, Hawaii at the end of May, 1996. Michael Tom, with whom I used to work with at Tandem until he moved back home to Hawaii, took us on a day-long locals tour of the island. One of the stops was Haunauma Bay, a sheltered bay with an easily snorkel-able reef with an abundance of marine life. After an hour of snorkeling we were sold, we had to learn to SCUBA dive so we could explore further down. On the flight back to San Francisco we were planning how we would get certified as SCUBA divers.
